Tuesday 10th November at 14.30. “Designing a Beautiful Border - What Makes a Planting Scheme Work?” by Justine Hutchinson

Henley based Justine Hutchinson is a professional gardener and was the co-founder of “WeWeed”, a network of over 800 female gardeners working throughout the UK. Personally she specialises in border designer with a focus on transforming established gardens, working on a modular, bed by bed or zone by zone basis. She particularly enjoys working with larger gardens and creating planting schemes that feel cohesive, natural and full of interest throughout the year.

Over the years Justine has designed gardens in a wide range of styles, from Japanese and cottage garden to Moorish and romantic. She is passionate about getting the right plants in the right place — and about making borders work with the garden around them, rather than simply filling them with as many lovely plants as possible!

In her talk she will progress from developing the overall concept, through bed structure, plant choices and learning from mistakes!

Please remember too that other gardener friends from the area are welcome to join us for this afternoon meeting. They just need to pay £5 at the door!

This is your opportunity to have your say on what you want from your Society.  Please put your thinking caps on and come along with your suggestions as to what the Committee should provide.

Your committee greatly look forward to seeing a good number of members at the AGM and to hearing your comments., the meeting will be followed by the Christmas Social with a cheese and wine buffet and home-made mince pies and a raffle.
